I have been in pastoral ministry since 2004, following my graduation from Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley, CA. Helping people connect with God and the depths of their own compassion are my greatest joys in ministry. As Senior Pastor of LGUMC, I have the pleasure of doing that through preaching, worship, small group studies and experiences of service locally and globally. 1 John 4:16 tells us that “God is love and those who abide in love abide in God.” I believe that learning to love with patience, forgiveness, compassion and justice is our soul’s life-long journey. I am blessed to companion this congregation on the way. When I’m not engaged in ministry, I love to spend time with my family. Music makes me feel alive, so you’ll occasionally hear me singing with the Open House Praise Band or belting out a song while driving in my car! As a graduate of the Ohio State University, I remain an ardent Buckeye football fan. I also enjoy running, reading and any activity that gets me outside in the wonders of creation.

I was raised on the Central Coast of California and have spent the last seven years living in Portland, Oregon. While in Oregon I attended George Fox University where I earned a Bachelors of Arts in Christian Ministry with a double emphasis in Church Recreation and Youth Ministry. I have been working in youth ministry settings, both church and para-church, since I was 19 and am currently discerning my call into lifelong ministry. In my spare time I enjoy reading, cycling, playing with my puppy, and searching for the best pizza around. I loathe glitter, pickles and flat tires.
![]() Mason NeippDirector of Chancel ChoirI have been singing for as long as I can remember. Whether it was Christmas caroling with my family or singing in school and church choirs, music has always played a central part in my life. I received my BM in Vocal Performance from Brigham Young University, and my MM in Vocal Performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. I am an active opera performer in the Bay Area, and am thrilled to be able to be a part of the Los Gatos United Methodist Church choir, and to help people worship through music. 408-409-3465choir@lgumc.org | ![]() Kevin McCulloughContemporary Music DirectorAs the Contemporary Music Director of Los Gatos United Methodist Church, I get the opportunity to worship and connect to the Lord and lead others in their worshipping and connecting to the Lord through music. Soon after entering San Jose State University, I decided to put more of my musical focus on jazz piano. In 2007 I received a BA in Jazz Studies from San Jose State University, and in 2011, a BM in Music Education and CA Teaching Credential. It is with great joy that I began serving at Los Gatos United Methodist Church in July of 2013. ![]() Joyce RhodesOrganistAs long as I can remember, I have always wanted to play the organ. After five years of piano, I started organ lessons and majored in organ at Sacramento State. My first organ position was while I was in high school, and since then have held several other positions for 45 years. Playing the organ, planning and coordinating music worship, participating in worship and being organist at Los Gatos United Methodist helps to fill my soul. My husband Bob and I have been married for 55 years, raised four children and now our family has grown to include spouses, 12 grandchildren and one great-grandson…numbering 24 total! I am actively involved with P.E.O., YMCA, enjoy family, bridge, reading, a mountain home at Northstar, snowshoeing, music, traveling, and being a part of LGUMC. 408-394-0457 Joyce.Rhodes@comcast.net | ![]() Marcelle DouganDirector of VisitationI am a public health professional and health and wellness coach. Commuting daily from Hollister can sometimes be tiring but all worth it once I get here. My co-workers are my friends, the members of the church my extended family, and the office is my home away from home. Weekdays don’t leave much time for activities but I take walks, enjoys movies and surround myself with grandchildren on weekends. My husband, John, and I have 13 grandchildren; some in San Jose, in Hollister, Delaware and England. 408-354-4730 x210Marylou.Abrahamson@LGUMC.org |
