BELONG – You Were Formed For God’s Family!
At LGUMC, we believe that the goal of our faith is to make every life an act of worship. We worship God through our gratitude, our attentiveness, our self-giving, and daily acts of kindness, mercy and justice. But, it all begins by setting aside time to gather as a community formed by the Spirit of Christ. We gather to pray, praise, give thanks and grow in our relationship to God. Worship services connect us to God and the longings of our hearts. They unite us as a community of faith and send us forth to be God’s people.
If you feel most connected to God in a service that includes beautiful choral music, traditional hymns with accompaniment on the organ and piano, and a liturgy of prayer and scripture, you will be at home in the Traditional Worship service at LGUMC. Our 9:15 a.m. Traditional Worship Service is a total experience that includes a warm welcome, music, visual arts, sermon and drama centered on the Word. Those who attend find that it centers them in the Spirit of God, spiritually re-charges them for the week ahead, and teaches them how they can serve others.
We believe that children are an important part of our church. Children’s Time is offered during the service where the children of God are welcomed. After Children’s Time the children (newborn- 5th grade) are welcome to go either to the nursery or Sunday School for the remaining of the service. They will learn the Love of Christ from enthusiastic teachers and youth. For more information on Kids Connection and the Children’s Ministry please visit our Children’s Ministry page.
